On "Confessions of a Navy SEAL,"
From: Pat Mahaffey
... Great article. Someone passed this link on the UDT/SEAL Team private mailing list. As you may or may not know, our community, like yours, is plagued by frauds. Anyway, as both a Judoka and an ex-SEAL, I really enjoyed your article and am glad to have found your website. You gave me a laugh, a moment of recognition and much to think about. Thank you.
Thanks

Aloha, I am Victor Marx, an instructor here in Hawaii for the past five years. I am not a classical martial artist but I so much appreciate your publication [being] not political or commercial. . .It sure honors the deep roots of this deep tree of martial arts that I and my father are mere twigs on the end of some branch!! You actually made mention of him in issue #6, Pat Harrington wrote of him!
Fat Soke?
From: Edward J. Smith, Italianguy104508@aol.comWayne, I recently saw a certificate on someones wall that said "futa Soke." I never heard of this, you'd think that every title ever made up has been covered. Any ideas? Thanks
Edward, from what I can figure out, maybe the guy didn't know his Japanese very well and thought futa (from futoi, an adjective) meant "big" or "grand," as in "grand-master." But futoi means fat. Like humongously fat. The only other thing I can think of is the word for lid is "futa." So he's the grandmaster of pot lids.
I'm Glad to be back too...
From: Luke Maranto, mryoshukia@msn.comWayne, I'm glad to see you are back in swing of things. It was worth the wait. Keep up the good work.
