Okay, So I'll Let You Plug Your School Because You're Funny
From Tom, TOMMYK1211@aol.comSincere sympathy on the family loss, especially at the start of such an optimistic year. Sorry!
Mr. [Robert] Smith certainly has his opinions. I always respected his research and that of Donn Draeger. What did you think of his (Smith's) opinions on Bruce Lee, Segal, and the rest of the martial artists who star in the movies? I disagree with his views on Jackie Chan, I know that Jackie has stated he is not a martial artist, per se, but he has had some training. That I do respect.
Also, I do enjoy his movies and I really admire Sumo Houng (spelling may be off) the star of Martial Arts (ch.2 CBS series with Arsenio Hall). I have seen videos of his earlier movies where he does Jackie Chan type moves, but with his considerable girth. I have been practicing martial arts over 15 years but then I tend to look more like Sumo then Jackie. I always get a kick out of people that think you can't practice because you don't have Bruce Lee's build, or that of Van Damme.
Anyway I only started this stuff when i was 35 and as I'm entering my 50th year I still keep on going and going. I have described to you, in the past, about the non-profit school I practice at (The HORANGI TAEKWONDO DOJANG), and while it is not a classical tradition it upholds that spirit. I know, I know you don't think thats possible, but I feel it is. Anyway , thanks for replying so quickly, and I would try to write a short piece about Capt. Smith, but the research is tough...I will give it a shot, who knows you may have something soon.
Regards
