Takeuchi-ryu Bojutsu (1)
The Takeuchi (or Takenouchi)-ryu kobudo system is known primarily as a grappling art that encompasses various weapons, including the short sword (kogusoku). However, it also includes in its curriculum many other weapons, such as the bo. This is the first kata in the first set, the Shin or Omote forms of the Kenbo bojutsu, called "Monomi." It is done with a partner who mirrors your movements. The junior student usually tries to coordinate his timing and speed by following along with the senior student he is paired with. This was filmed at the Choufukan Dojo in Kyoto, Japan. |
